The AF-S VR Zoom-Nikkor 55-300mm f/4-5.6G IF-ED is a high-performance telephoto zoom lens that offers Nikon's most advanced features such as Nikon Extra Low Dispersion (ED) glass, Silent Wave Motor (SWM) and enhanced Vibration Reduction (VRII***), as well as optics perfected for use with both Nikon DX format digital and 35mm film SLR cameras.
It offers a 5.5x zoom (equivalent 82.5-450mm on a DX Nikon D-SLR and 35mm format). Vibration Reduction minimizes the effects of camera shake allowing photographers to shoot handheld at as many as 4 shutter speeds slower than would otherwise be possible, assuring sharper images. Two ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glass elements minimize chromatic aberration for superior picture quality. High Refractive Index (HRI) lens achieves high specifications and optical performance.
This lens weighs 530g and accepts filter size of 58mm.
