Quality Price Value Ok, I think this camera is a ftuure investment on Nikon, buy it if you want to support their Research teams. Why: I think the 35 mm sensor size will be obsolete in the coming decade, at least in terms of light harvesting efficiency. As the research goes on, the larger sensors will first translate -only- to larger megapixels, and as the sensor PE lifetime improves, even that will stop to make sense, and only a niche group that can not leave their lenses behind will remain. I strongly believe the camera companies have the technology already, I mean, the CdSe CdTe clusters embedded in various matrices is known for two decades now, and we can control the properties really well. Their quantum efficiency is much higher than any CMOS, and they don't even need filters to harvest a specific wavelength of light. However, from an industrial point of view, while people are still buying it, why scrap multi-millon CMOS facilities and supply lines? Its mass production and marketing, has little correlation with what is more advanced. So, when they think they have milked the crowd enough with existing technologies they will introduce these new sensor technologies for the market. Probably militaries around the world have them already. So, in the coming years, this system will definitely have a sensor which will make Leica M9 fans cry with envy, provided that they can pull it off as a company until then and have good lenses in their portfolio.
